Sol Coffee is a journal for the drinks you order at cafés. It's built so that what you log stays yours. This page explains what stays on your phone, what leaves it, and why.
Your journal stays on your phone
Every sticker you make (the drink, photos, shop, price, rating, notes and who you were with) is stored only on your device. We never receive it. Deleting the app deletes it.
Location
If you allow it, the app uses your location while you log a drink to suggest nearby cafés, using Apple Maps on your device. We don't receive or store your location.
Accounts and friends (optional)
An account is only needed to add friends. If you create one, we store:
- Your account: email address, name, username and a securely hashed password.
- What friends can see: your café's decoration, your barista's look, your level and, if you set one, your profile photo.
- Your friends: who you've added and pending requests.
- Sign-in sessions: so you stay signed in, including the device's IP address and user agent.
Only people you've both agreed to be friends with can see your café and photo. Your drinks are never uploaded or shared.
We email you only to confirm your address and to reset your password. No newsletters, no marketing, and your email is never shown to other people.
Where it's stored
Account data is stored with Cloudflare (Workers, D1 and R2), and emails are sent through Cloudflare Email Service. We don't sell your data, show ads or use third-party trackers.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings, Account. This permanently removes your account, friendships, shared café and profile photo. Your on-device journal is unaffected.
